ACCELERATING THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN ANGOLA
This report presents an in-depth examination of the short- and medium-term impacts of policy interventions aligned with Angola's 2023-2027 National Development Plan (NDP) and the Long-Term Strategy, Angola 2050. Using the iSDG model, the report simulates the effects of targeted investments in key sectors, such as health, education, agriculture, social protection, electricity, and water, to assess their contributions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
The analysis identifies these sectors as critical accelerators of the SDGs, demonstrating the need for focused investments to drive progress. The study explores different investment scenarios—ranging from 2% to 5% of GDP—and evaluates their potential to enhance Angola's development trajectory, especially in terms of food security, clean water access, and climate action.
Moreover, the report emphasizes the importance of establishing an Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) to mobilize public and private resources effectively, ensuring long-term sustainability. The findings highlight the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Angola in meeting its development goals, calling for strategic and collaborative efforts to advance the 2030 Agenda.
