Climate Change and Renewable Energy
Half the world’s population lives in this region of over 3 billion people. Although, on the average, the region is enjoying impressive economic growth and reduction in poverty, significant differences among and within the countries persist. MI is helping stakeholders in this region confront these challenges in a dynamic and integrated manner.


Modeling Population in China
MI has partnered with the China Population and Development Research Center (CPDRC) to develop a population model to assist with national decision making on family planning related matters. 

New Mechanisms for Financing Climate Change Mitigation
Under a collaboration with WWF, MI has expanded the Threshold 21 China (T21-China) model to examine ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the cement and iron and steel industries through use of current and new technologies.. 

Conceptualizing Effective and Efficient Adaptation Policies to Climate Change in Bangladesh
MI is collaboration with Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies, Bangladesh Development Research Center, and International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) to develop a research program and policy framework for climate change adaptation in Bangladesh. 

Papua, Indonesia: A new approach to integrating development planning with biodiversity conservation
Conservation International and MI collaborated on pursuing a more cooperative approach to address the concerns of various interest groups represented in Papua’s environmental and economic resources.
