MI Study Presented at Congressional Testimony

Washington, DC January 31, 2009 - A study, Evaluating the Creation of a Parallel Non-Oil Transportation System in an Oil Constrained Future conducted by Millennium Institute examining the effects of several oil versus non-oil transportation policy scenarios on GDP, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy availability was presented before the House Sub Committee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials of the U.S. Congress on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. The study was presented as part of the testimony of Phillip Longman, a Senior Fellow at New America Foundation before the committee. The study was also referenced in a recent Washington Monthly article by Mr. Longman.
